Former ‘The Bachelor’ Star Shares this Bachelor Party Itinerary

As a Sonoma local, I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing Sonoma County’s finest offerings and generally end up with the “inside track” on amazing experiences because of the relationships I’ve built here after so many years. Sonoma County is an amazingly proud community that opens its arms to all and I’m grateful to call this place my home. That said, allow me the opportunity to extend that “inside track” to those wanting to plan a bachelor party in this beloved area.

For those of you flying in, might I suggest stepping off the plane at Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport (STS) in Santa Rosa as opposed to San Francisco International (SFO). The Santa Rosa airport feels like coming home and sets a stress-free tone for the trip ahead. Plus, the newly renovated terminal is extremely easy to navigate and feels as if you just flew private. Seriously.

Every bachelor party needs a comfy bed, and the Flamingo Resort & Spa in Santa Rosa is a perfect option. The resort’s central location means you’re just a short drive from everything else you have planned for the weekend and offers the perfect blend of relaxation and excitement. With its luxurious spa and spacious pool area, it’s a haven for those seeking relaxation. The resort also features a lively lounge and bar scene, where you and your friends can toast to the groom-to-be and dance the night away.

Just minutes away you’ll find Graton Resort and Casino. With a blend of luxury and excitement, this resort offers a one-stop haven for table-game aficionados. With its strategic location, you’ll be able to access all parts of Sonoma County, making it an ideal launchpad for the ultimate bachelor bash.

Ready for an adrenaline rush that will leave you breathless? Be sure to book a group experience at the Sonoma Raceway Karting Center and race around one of the longest tracks in the Golden State! These karts reach speeds up to 70 mph and the sheer thrill of the race creates a friendly sense of competition for the weekend.

Prefer some relaxation on the golf course? Well, nestled along the captivating coastline of Sonoma County, The Links at Bodega Bay presents an extraordinary setting for an unforgettable round. As you navigate the challenging holes and usually contend with some natural elements, you’ll be treated to sweeping vistas of the Pacific Ocean, creating a backdrop that’s second to none. Good luck and go low.

Auteur Wine Tasting Menu

No trip to Sonoma County would be complete without a wine tasting, right? Nestled just off the historic Sonoma Plaza sits the Auteur Winery Tasting Room. This boutique winery focuses on small production, single vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from coastal vineyards and offers a personalized tasting experience that’s second to none. Depending on the time of year, be sure to ask about their rosé wine too!

As the sun dips behind Sonoma Mountain, head to Glen Ellen Star in downtown Glen Ellen, CA for a dining experience that’s as unforgettable as this itinerary. This Michelin Bib Gourmand (10 years in a row might I add) gem is headed up by chef Ari Weiswasser and combines locally sourced ingredients with innovative culinary techniques, resulting in dishes that will tantalize your taste buds. After dinner, be sure to walk down the road to the Jack London Saloon for a few post dinner pops, it’s iconic.

With a plethora (yes, I said plethora) of options to choose from in Sonoma County I hope this guide serves as a foundation for planning an epic bachelor party. Feel free to fill in the gaps with whatever fits your fancy. From local dive bars to mountainous hikes, your options in this diverse place are limitless. Just one favor to ask … leave it as you found it and get home safe!
