The Newest Breweries To Open in Sonoma County

Come this time of year in Sonoma County, the attention turns to Santa Rosa for the annual release of Pliny the Younger. One of the world’s most coveted and famous beers, Pliny the Younger is released for just two weeks in February, bringing people from near and far to line up at Russian River Brewing Company for the limited triple-hopped ale. Beyond the Pliny the Younger release, however, this is an exciting time for beer lovers with FeBREWary, a month-long celebration of beer in Santa Rosa, and the opening of several new breweries in Sonoma County. Below, discover a few of the newest Sonoma County breweries.

Seismic

Opening last summer in The Barlow, Seismic’s Sebastopol taproom is a large, bright open sustainable brewery with a full menu of year-round and limited release beers. Among their year-round beers is the Alluvium Pilsner, Liquifaction Kolsch, Megathrust and Shatter Cone IPAs, and Magnetic Midnight Black Lager. On weekends, there’s often live music, and they also have a large lounge area with a pool table.

3 Disciples Brewing

Building their beer brand locally by word of mouth, 3 Disciples Brewing opened their downtown Santa Rosa taproom last year. Unique beers fill the menu, like the Belgian-style Dubbel on Nitro, German-style Marzen, and Milkshake IPA. Hungry? Ask for their food menu, which offers food options from surrounding restaurants like Best of Burma and Tipsy Taco.

Parliament

One of Sonoma County’s newest breweries, Parliament Brewing recently opened in Rohnert Park. A family affair, Parliament is a small taproom that packs a punch of fresh beers, often rotating new beers in their taproom. For those who love sour beers, this is a chance to try new sours and wild ales. Parliament is also Fido-friendly, and often has different rotating Sonoma County food trucks.

Old Caz

Also new to Rohnert Park is Old Caz Beer, which had its grand opening last summer. As they put it, “Our mission is to create beers that can live up to what we consider to be the greatest place on Earth: Sonoma County.” At Old Caz you’ll see a lot of craft beer staples, like pilsners and numerous IPAs, but other unique beers like their kettle sour and Cazberry tart ale.
