Or, take part in Alexander Valley Film Society’s plethora of movie showings, consisting of both drive-in and live streaming classics, independent films, and documentaries. Alexander Valley Film Society Cinema, Cloverdale
Luckily for drive-in movie fans, Alexander Valley Film Society is continuing their pop-up drive-in series at the Cloverdale Citrus Fair with modifications. Drive-ins begin at sundown featuring movies that include Wonder Woman and Grand Budapest Hotel, while more summer titles will be released in the coming weeks. Tickets can be purchased on their website. In addition to drive-ins, AVFS’ Shelter in Place series is offering a variety of virtual programming, including their #FilmFoodWine movie chats and Arthouse Streaming Series.
Carpool Cinema at Luther Burbank Center, Santa Rosa
Featuring films old and new, the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, in collaboration with Santa Rosa Cinema, shows movies every Wednesday and Saturday in their parking lot beginning at sunset. Take a trip to escape the summer heat with Frozen or venture back in time with A League of Their Own. Superhero fans rest assured, with Guardians of the Galaxy scheduled for August 5. Tickets can be purchased online in advance and sound is streamed through the car FM radio.
“La Bamba” en Español, Healdsburg
Part of the ¡Vamos Juntos al Cine! Series in partnership with Corazon Healdsburg, this film brings a Spanish family-friendly film to the community. Follow the story of Ritchie Valens, dance along to his rock ‘n’ roll songs, and enjoy this 1987 Lou Diamond Phillips classic with free entry at the Healdsburg Community Center.
Men in Black at Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Santa Rosa
Bay Area Pop-Up Events brings a couple of movies to Santa Rosa during the last weekend in July. Catch Raiders of the Lost Ark on Friday, July 24th or Men in Black on Saturday, July 25th as part of their Drive-In Entertainment Events. Begin the evening with live music at 7 p.m. followed by the screening at 8:15 p.m. Movie snacks are available for sale.
