Sonoma County Wine and Cheese Pairing
Enjoy a pairing of Sonoma County produced cheeses and wines selected by Sheana Davis & Ben Sessions, proprietors of The Epicurean Connection in Sonoma.
As a cheesemaker and catering company, we’re excited to share Sonoma County cheeses and wines that we enjoy both personally and professionally. We always like to have a selection of Sonoma County produced cheeses and wines available to create a cheese board on the whim or for a special event. And that couldn’t be truer than right now. So we thought it would be fun to share a few of our favorite Sonoma County cheese and wine pairings with you. These are all cheeses and wines you can either order online or by phone, or in some cases, find at your local store. Please enjoy!

Valley Ford Highway 1
Valley Ford Cheese, a farmstead dairy in Valley Ford, created an amazingly silky, creamy and nutty Fontina-style cheese that is perfect on a cheeseboard, a grilled cheese sandwich, or mixed into a mac ‘n cheese. Pair the Valley Ford Highway 1 with Cline Cellars Syrah, and garnish with fresh blackberries and serve with walnut bread.
Vella Cheese Company Mezzo Secco
The Vella Cheese Mezzo Secco, an aged cow milk cheese, is hand-coated with oil and black pepper. We serve it on a breakfast cheeseboard with fresh berries, or, on an evening cheeseboard with Zoe’s charcuterie, coarse ground mustard, and a glass of Gary Farrell Pinot Noir.
Laura Chenel Ash Rind Buchette with Gundlach Bundschu Merlot
The Laura Chenel Ash Rind Buchette is a lovely fresh goat cheese, dusted with vegetable ash. Serve the Laura Chenel Ash Rind Buchette on a cheese platter with Lala’s raspberry jam, fresh cracked wheat bread, and walnuts, paired with a Gundlach Bundschu Merlot.
