Chamber Music Ensembles

When we think of music that truly listens back, we think of chamber music. Its intimate. It's intricate. And its built on the kind of collaboration that can only happen when each musician is fully tuned in not just to the notes on the page, but to the energy in the room. The Chamber Music Ensembles concert brings together an exciting and diverse program performed by talented student musicians and faculty artists.
The evening will feature timeless masterpieces and unexpected gems, including:
Maurice Ravels String Quartet a shimmering impressionist classic full of color and emotion
Antonín Dvořáks Terzetto in C Major a charming and lively piece for two violins and viola
Gioachino Rossinis Duo for Cello and Double Bass a witty, virtuosic dialogue between low strings
Johannes Brahms Horn Trio in E-flat Major a romantic and lyrical journey blending horn, violin, and piano
Alexander Borodins String Quartet No. 2 best known for its lush Nocturne movement
Robert Wards Serenade for Horn and Strings a lyrical and heartfelt work by the recently retired principal horn of the San Francisco Symphony
And a special performance by a Saxophone Ensemble showcasing the versatility and rich timbres of the instrument family. So come for the stories, stay for the sound, and leave with a little more music in your life.
