Meet the Wildflower Families

What’s the difference between a monocot and a dicot? How can you spot the sunflower family? Which family has mostly scented leaves? And why should we care? Join California Naturalist Carolyn Greene on a brief journey into the world of wildflowers. The program begins with a short outdoor presentation, complete with a display table and handouts, to learn how to identify plants and blooms, their pollinators, and the common traits of the Sonoma County plant family. Then, the group will take a slow-paced two to three-mile wildflower walk to find these facts in nature.
