Winter Family Discovery Hike

On Dec. 29, 2024, California Naturalist Laura Wagner will lead a “Family Winter Discovery Hike” to explore Beauty Ranch and visit the site of Jack London’s lake at Jack London State Historic Park.

The hike is designed for those who love to learn. Each household or individual participating will receive a Discovery worksheet to write down information and observations along the journey. The hike will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and cover two and a half miles with a 350-foot elevation gain. It will be canceled in the event of rain.

Wagner, who has been a volunteer at the park since 2017, advises participants to bring a pen or pencil and water and wear sturdy shoes.
