As of March 26th, Truett Hurst & VML are back in the hands of founder Phil Hurst in partnership with vintner Ken Wilson. The goal of this partnership is to bring Truett-Hurst and VML back to our roots as family/locally-owned wineries. Winemaker Ross Reedy will continue to make the wines you love, and our tasting room doors are now open at a new location in Downtown Healdsburg at 113 Mill Street (right off the roundabout near Rockpile Vineyards). The partnership with Phil Hurst and Ken Wilson opens doors for expanded offerings and exclusive benefits for wine club members with access to the Wilson Artisan Wineries portfolio including Wilson, Mazzocco, Pezzi King, Rockpile Vineyards, Matrix Winery, Soda Rock, deLorimier, Jaxon Keys, St. Anne’s Crossing, Greenwood Ridge, Coyote Sonoma and more. Established in 2007. While the formation of the Truett Hurst partnership began in November of 2007, the founding partners worked together at Fetzer Winery years before. At that time, Paul Dolan was Director of Winemaking and hired Phil Hurst, fresh from UC Davis, to work as one of the winemakers. Years later, Phil would hire Paul’s son, Heath, right out of college to work for him. Thirty years after that first meeting, Paul, Heath, Phil and Sylvia Hurst formed a partnership in the Dry Creek Valley. Their vision: create world class wines using biodynamic farming principles. To complete that vision, Mark De Meulanaere and Virginia Lambrix were brought in.
